Pictures of trip to Vernon

Cottage at Okanagan Lake

August 2000

Looking south along the back lane. Nice cottages!

To get to the cottage: We drove south along Highway 97a from Sicamous BC. About 10 kilometres after Armstrong, you turn west onto highway 97. A few kilometers west is a blue sign that points south to Killiney. We drove 30 kilometres along a very windy back road on the west side of the Okanagan Lake to the turn off that read, Ewings Ldg. Road. At the bottom of a large hill we found the lane that led us down to the cottage that my mom had rented for the week of August 13th to the 20th.

The lane was a little narrow but we managed.

Parking fot two vehicles.

The cottage as seen from the lane.

The cottage was certainly one of the smaller ones along the lake. It was very comfortable however, and sat well hidden from view, both from the back lane and the lake, affording us plenty of privacy!

Nadine in her usual place during summer months: In the sun!

Sexy!

Looking south.

The deck went around two sides of the cottage, giving us both shade and sun at the same time.

Looking south towards our new neighbours.

Our deck.

Nadine in the sun again!

The stairs leading down from the deck to the lake where the only obstacle for Nadine, but we did manage to get her down by using our neighbours path.

As you can see, there was plenty of sun and shade to be had.

Nadine in the sun again!

Nice and cool!

Plenty of shade for those of us who prefer it a little cooler!

Nadine on the dock!

Looking east from the shore in front of our cottage. Vernon is the other side of the hill in the background.

Nadinein the sun again!!!

Check out the bikini!

Most of the other cottages around us looked more like homes than cottages. One that was a couple lots south of us is five levels high!

Looking back towards our cottage. Ours was well hidden from view from the lake, it's barely visible over my mom's right shoulder. The cottage on her left, our right, is our closest neighbour. It was their path I had to use to get Nadine down to the dock.

Mom!

We had a great time! Thank you Mom!
